I'm moving to Devon

Hi - anyone in South Devon? We’re moving back on 23rd October - Mr.Grumpy was born in Exeter and lived in Devon till he was 17, when he joined the army. He always wanted to go back - when he was little he had an auntie in Paignton, and used to say “When I’m grown up I’m going to live here.” Well, he’s 64, and we’ve got tired of waiting for him to grow up!

We’re moving to Goodrington. I’d love to meet up with people when we get there, but in the meantime I’d really love to chat, and pick brains about good decorators, vets etc.

Helloooooo? Surely there must be someone from South Devon/Torbay area out there…? Or maybe the climate’s so healthy, people just don’t get ill?

Hello Susanne A, sorry nobody else got around to welcome you to Devon, am myself living in Plymouth so it’s just a little out of your way. You will love it down here. I moved to Plymouth 22 years ago and shan’t be leaving in a hurry.

Hope things are fine with you. Speak to you. helen301

Hi Susanne - I live in South Devon and I am afraid that people here do get poorly!! I will drop you an e-mail!!

Hi both - thanks for replying. I guess the thing with South Devon is you can still get ill, but you’re doing it in a nice place! Helen, I will be coming into Plymouth sometimes as I’m hoping to line up some work with the University.

Hello ladies. Just to say I’m trying to start a support group for younger women with bc in the Plymouth area. Not sure how old any of you are, but if under 45 and interested please PM me! Caro x

Hi Suzanne - and there are a few of us from Taunton and up to Bristol - we meet up in Bristol occasionally (just today as it happened!) You’d be very welcome to join us if i’s not too far for you - Debs in Cornwall comes up from St. Ives when she can travel.

Best of luck with your support group too Caro

Hi Susanne,

Just read your posting, hope you are settled in to your new home. I’m in Totnes, just up the road from Paignton. You’ll be pleased to know we have an excellent BCU at Torbay hospital, and a Lymphoedema Unit at the local hospice, both of which I can recomend!
