Implant removal due to infection

hi,

i would appreciate some advise/ support please. Following a right MX, several years ago, I finally felt it was time to have a recon, mainly due to a large remaining breast that was difficult to match and causing back problems.

A Reduction on left side and following 9months of having an expander fitted to the right side, an implant fitted to the right, 5 weeks ago.

all was well for first 2 weeks, then I became unwell with a temperature etc, swelling to the implant area.

after 2 -3 weeks of different antibiotics,  I was admitted to hospital for a week and did not respond to IV antibiotics, and had surgery last week to remove the implant.

I am gutted, the consultant, says he will send me an appointment in 6 weeks to consider next options and I have oral antibiotic prescription for a week.

As, I opted for the least invasive option of an implant rather than having surgery to other parts of my body, I am not sure what other options he could be referring to.

I know it’s early days but the right side scar is horribly indented, with loose skin, flapping over it, due to the  expansion of the breast tissue over the past months.

The reduced breast is tender but no infection at the present, but I am left with a situation of uneven breasts again.

Any help would be greatly appreciated please
