Has anyone else had the experience that their implant is detected at airport security so you have to have the sweep with the wand?
It seems to happen at the gates where you have to stand on the footprints with your arms away from your body. I kept being pulled to one side to have the wand check - and wondered why it kept happening. On a recent trip through the airport, I saw the image on the screen with a big orange box over my reconstructed boob!
I looked it up and apparently these security gates look for anomalies in body density in case you are hiding anything. So they do pick up breast implants - especially if you just have one.
I now find it mildly amusing and a teeny bit irritating - as so far all it has meant is a quick waft of the wand and me now explaining I have an implant, and then I am on my way.
However - I am wondering what other people have experienced?
It’s another thing they don’t warn you about at the hospital!!
