I am due to have a tissue expander exchanged for an implant on my mastectomy side (after an igap that proved too small) and an implant put in my good side in order to match things up. Can anyone tell me what to expect, were they pleased with the results & about recovery time? I’m slightly worried about having both sides operated on at the same time.

Hi Sheila,
I had mine swapped end of August and it feels so much better than the expander, it’s softer and a better shape. I was in hospital two nights, and I was pretty much recovered after two to three weeks . I only had one side done though.

i had 2 done, at the same time. I did walk around like a thunderbird puppet, arms stiff, wither side, but soon managed to walk, and swing my arms a bit
