Inflamatory Breast Cancer

Hi

Today is not a good day, I saw the consultant yesterday who informed me that the proposed treatment plan I had been working to was being revised. I will now start chemo next Friday, FEC-T.

He also informed me that not only do I have invasive ductal carcinoma, grade 2, but inflamatory breast cancer too.

I feel a little devestated today about it, but know that the chemo will do its job.

I am off to select a wig today, which I hope will help lift my mood slightly.

Has anyone else had these two invaders?

All the best to everyone

Hi Anne, you are sadly not alone, there are a few of us on here, I was DX in March with IDC grade 2/3, also inflamatory BC, I am having Taxotere chemo ,as I am Her 2 + Im having Herceptin too.I am due to have my last cycle next week(Number 6), the signs are good that the treatment is working so I am feeling positive now. I must admit at first it was very daunting , the way IBC is treated is different in that you have chemo first then surgery and rads after, believe me it does get easier once treatment gets going, there are a few threads on here where we support eachother , PM me if you need any thing.
Try not to google IBC its all out of date a scary stuff, My consultant told me IBC is not worse than ‘normal’ BC its just harder to diagnose,so try not to worry.
Seding you a hug,
Jean
