Inflammatory breast cancer?

I’m 44 and post menopausal after having a full hysterectomy about 8 years ago due to endometriosis. For a few weeks I’ve had pain in my left breast and following that, pain in my left ribs but that’s mainly when I expand my rib cage when breathing in deeply. The pain in my breast has been so bad it’s been disturbing my sleep. I eventually took myself off to the docs last week not even considering anything like cancer. He examined me and said it looked like I had some reddening on the side of my breast nearest to my armpit. He also asked if I’d noticed my left breast was a lot warmer than my right to which I said no. He said he could feel my milk ducts and they felt noticeable but he said he could feel my right ones but not quite as much. He’s suspecting mastitis and I’ve been prescribed flucloxacillin 500mg capsules to be taken 4 times daily. It was when I got home I Googled my symptoms and ibc came up every time. I’ve got to go back next week and if my symptoms haven’t completely gone away, he’s going to refer me to the breast clinic. I’m worrying myself silly now as my symptoms haven’t improved at all - yet. Been taking these capsules since last Thursday. Having problems sleeping I’m worrying so much and with Christmas around the corner, I don’t want to drag my family down. My youngest is coming home from university on Friday and she’ll know I’m panicking about something but I don’t want to say anything until I know for definite one way or another. Help!

Can no one give me any advice and tell me if I’m right to be worried :frowning:

Just to let you know I’ve been referred to the breast clinic at the local hospital on 31 Dec. When the referral was made I was also diagnosed with shingles. December hasn’t been my month!

All was fine at the breast clinic. I’ve got unexplained breast soreness and been advised to take a herbal supplement called agnus castus
