Hi, my firend went to see her GP today about a lump on her breast, she was told that further tests would be done & that she should expect to receive a letter within 3-4 weeks !
Is there anyway in which she can fast track this, she’s absolutley terrified & I think the waiting is just going to make things so much worse for her.
Any help/suggestions would be very much appreciated.
I don’tknow where your friend stays but I think if she contacts the breast clinic that she has been referred to and asks if they have a cancellation probably about the only thing she can do. Hopefully she will be ok, but in the BC scare or diagnosis the worst part is playing the waiting game. Be thinking of your friend and glad she has you to support her.

If your friend’s GP had classed her referral as urgent she would be seen within 2 weeks according to current guidelines. The waiting really is very hard and if it is distressing her so much it is affecting her health she could try asking the GP to change the classification of the referral (as well as following Irene’s advice).
