My mum has just finished chemo and rads and is now taking arimedex for 5 years. Her and dad are looking at holidays - to Benidorm or somewhere in Spain. I have been on Insure Pink website as I have seen from other threads that it is quite good. I see that when you get so far down the quote and answer yes to having any type of cancer you have to phone them for a screening number. Just wondered if anyone can advise what kind of questions they will ask my mum - just so she is prepared as I want to make this as easy as possible for her and dad but at the same time making sure she is covered… My dad has high blood pressure so see from the terms they won’t insure anyone else with a pre-existing condition which is fine he can sort himself out! Only kidding but thats no problem. Your help would be greatly appreciated…
Thanks, Maree
I tried to get a quote from them at the end of last year. They wouldn’t cover me until I was 3 months out of treatment - I am assuming chemo, rads etc not arimidex. At the time I was having rads and wanted cover for a trip 5 days after I finished.
I am a year out of treatment and found the small print in Pink Insure a bit off putting so went with Fortis again so both of us got covered, they are very fair. Think they are now called Towergate Risk Solutions.
The other company you could try is miaonline. I have secondaries and they will cover me even though I’m still on chemo.
Has your mum asked her breast care nurse whether she needs to be covered for her breast cancer? If she doesn’t she will still need to declare that she’s had breast cancer but wants it excluding.
Hi
I had read about Insure pink and told a friend who used them. She said they were really lovely on the phone and the woman she spoke to had had BC. My friend said the quote was great, no more than she would have paid before. She has done chemo, was on Heceptin and Tamoxfen. Hope that helps
