Invasive Lobular 5 years later in same boob ?

Diagnosed with breast cancer Local recurrence or new primary diagnosis

So there I was thinking it was my last yearly mammogram and would be going onto 3 yearly screening and BAM they saw something suspicious ? so a few scans and biopsies later and waiting for results again brought it all back. Finally the results day arrived and was told to my utter disappointment that the results were inconclusive and I was booked in for a vacuum biopsy a few days later. Another week of waiting. This time I got the results…not the ones I wanted…BUT it still felt better than the NOT KNOWING. That is the worst time. I feel a lot calmer than last time. I’m booked in for a bone scan this Monday and then CT scans and bone density scans to follow the week after, so we will see what results they bring ? and then will be discussing the surgery options ? Has anybody had a mastectomy and reconstruction that matches their good boob? Or has anybody insisted they want a double MX just for symmetry alone?

Hi Deb,
Oh crikey! To have this happen at the end of the follow up period is somewhat disappointing, but if it was going to happen, better now than 3 years down the line or until you had symptoms.
I’ve just done 2 years, so I cannot really add anything in respect of your question, so just sending hugs in dealing with it all again.

Good news. Scans both came back clear. No metastasis ? op next Wednesday xx
