inverted nipple and been referred. I'm now also pregnant!

Hello I’ve been to the drs as have recently (about a mth ago) noticed one nipple has become inverted. Also slight white discharge and the nipple looks bumpy. They have sent me a urgent referral to the breast clinic and my appointment is on the 1st so I’m on the long wait :frowning:

I’m also pregnant. Really early days but will this effect any tests they want to do at the clinic? I can’t even think about what might happen if anything comes back positive for bc :frowning: but just wanted to know if it will effect the first appointment? I’m 31 and it says I prob won’t have a mammogram due to this and guess the scan should be fine to do??

My breast are hurting me lots more and mainly the one with inverted nipple. It’s hard because I don’t know if it’s because of the breast problems or just the pregnancy hormones :frowning: this is baby no7 so I’ve done it before but can’t remember it hurting more on one side or not.

Anyway sorry for my long ramble. Anyone know if it will effect any tests they want to do? Thanks

Thanks for your reply and the link. I have had the problems with my breast for longer then I’m pregnant so don’t think the issues are caused by the pregnancy at all. Just makes the tenderness that I know is common in early pregnancy something to be more worried about esp as it hurts lots more in the effected breast :(

I will go and have a look at the link. Thank you

I have my appointment tomorrow! I’ve been trying hard to stay positive after having major wobbles when I first found out about being referred but tonight I’m so worried at what tomorrow may bring!!!

Best of luck for tomorrow xx
I was at my appointment today and I know it’s horrible waiting but you will be better when you get there  wishing you all goes well and let us know how you get on xx

Hi MellyWelly

I can sympathise just a little. You wanted a total ‘all clear’ so that you could get on with your life and it’s not what you got. I was there around 10 years ago after 6 weeks of uncertainty, tests and surgery, when I went for results thinking that it’d be clear cut one way or the other. I found that I didn’t have bc (fantastic) but had a condition that put me at higher risk of getting bc (great - thanks!!).

But remember that these drs are really, really expert at this. They deal with these sorts of problems all day, everyday (well, they probably have a day off now and then). And it’s really good that they are going to keep an eye on you and that you can go back anytime if you are worried.

But I am thinking of you - I know it’s not easy.

Best wishes
