Investigation Radiograpy

Hi all. I hope you are all ok (as you can be in this group, given the circumstances).

I’ve created a couple of posts & right now, I am in a pretty horrible unknown stage & wondering if anyone else has been where I am. Long story cut short is I saw my GP mid August as had found a small lump. I have since had numerous ultrasounds & Mammograms. The lump has been classified as a fatty necrosis & I’ve had Microcalcifications on both breasts classified as indeterminate. A mammogram view (magnified) led to 17 biopsies being taken. I waited 3 weeks for the results only for the Consultant to ring me to say none of the biopsy results showed calcifications & the biopsies need taking again. No apology, no explanation & no urgency re fast-tracking it all. I’ve had to fight & have involved numerous NHS staff & been told to log a formal complaint after putting in a PALs complaint. I’m getting my biopsies taken again next week but still no explanation of why the target biopsies were missed. I’m waiting to see if they can fast-track the results. The whole thing is just an ongoing saga & whilst the percentage chances are that I won’t have breast cancer there is still obviously the chance I do & it’s just going on & on.

Thanks for reading if you’ve got this far :blush:.

Dear Polly,

My heart goes out to you, what a terrible journey you have had……so did I with my first cancer 5 years ago, however I did get sorted out by moving to another hospital.

We are all here for you, I’m pleased to read you have got PALS involved, don’t sit on anything you are not comfortable with, speak up for yourself (I didn’t) just went along with my consultant as I didn’t want to be a nuisance. I know different now you got to lookout for yourself.

I do wish you well going forward, with a good outcome, please let us know how your getting on.

With love Tili :pray::rainbow::pray::rainbow:

Hi
Well what a pickle, what a shame that some basic human kindness by acknowledgement from the consultant hasn’t happened to date. I am so sorry you have been let down

Having lodged a formal complaint has someone now apologised at least?

Ask for a face to face appointment with the consultant/team snd take someone with you. As calmly as you can let them know how you feel and how the lack of empathy has affected you, along with the waiting times which are the worst period

It might also help to chat to one of the nurses on here ( they are back tomorrow)

Bigs hugs, and happy thoughts sent your way xx
