I’m really down in the dumps at the mo and finding it hard. Have rung Hamar Centre re clinical psychologist appointment and they are going to fit me in, so hopefully i can go ahead and have double mx once chemo/rads is finished. Decided if i wait for doctor to refer me i will be waiting for months and i want it done at the same time as node clearance so i don’t have two lots of surgery. They were so helpful at the Hamar Centre-i think we’re lucky to have them.
Has anyone heard from Shar? was wondering how her last Tax went.
Hi Girls, Im back… kind of… tax truck hit me bit harder this time but still better than FEC ( so dont worry Rachel) just trying to catch up on everythng now… Sorry ur Dad unwell Rachel, lots of love to u and my regards to your Dad. when does your tax start? let me know how u go at the Hamar Centre and if i can help in anyway…Oh Daffofdil, i couldnt believe u had been in RSH and after looking beautiful and well last week, i know i ws lucky they had a bed in ~Ward 21, cant imagine what other wards like but they should still treat u with same tlc, lets sort them out, ah, hugs to u xx
Thank u Diane, would love to meet up and thank u for offer if i need anything, just been resting, my OH been looking after me and been having the immune injections, my bloods were too low for chemo on the day but had another test and the white had shot up but the red 9.8 so had to wait for onc approval which i got, but now have the sore mouth, furry tongue, ulcers, and horrible taste so lots of lime soda and ice cream, the aches i controlled with pain relief, i think worse chemo was fec 2 and 3 so take hope Mel, your fec will get better and its do good and inspiring being on here with you all, cant wait to meet up again. Still not got rads appt through they are meant to be contacting me any day now with the planning meeting and then i can get started… lots of love to all of u. Shar xxx

I’me feeling human again after taxidermy 2 - still can’t taste much and sleep a bit erratic, but soooo much better with the reduced asteroids. Back to work tomorrow. Last one just two weeks away…
My rads planning should be in the next week or so, then I should start them the second week in August. Shar - will you have finished by then? They are going to do mine over 25 sessions because of the recon,so will be in Shrewsbury on a daily basis til mid-sept. So if anyone fancies a coffee at the Hamar?
Has anyone used the facilities at the Hamar much? What’s on offer? Haven’t had the opportunity to check it out cos I’ve had my chemo at home.

Finally coming back to life and catching up on all your news/notes.
FEC 3 hit me like a ton of bricks and was under the covers for a week.
Back on track now and feeling so much better. TAX 1 next week…really nervous about this one…I hear it is worse than FEC for side effects.
Hope everyone is well and I can get to meet you on the next get together.
Glad to see you back. FEC 3 hit me hard too and like you I have tax now and am worried about side effects. Will post on here after I’ve had it on Thursday and let you know how it went.

Feeling much better today after walk and lunch at Attingham Park with friends and doggie. Also have too much energy thanks to steroids I presume. Trying to wear myself out enough to get some sleep.
Hope you are all doing well, really hope I can meet you all on the next gathering.

I have my second part of first cmf tomoz at 1.30pm at RSH so may see you there Rachel and Sparkleybelle. I have an awful sore throat but no temp so hope I can still get zapped!
I have been several times to the Hamar Centre and find them excellent there.

Hi all, what do we think about organising next meet? The Inn worked well for me but am happy to go wherever. Please dont ask me to organise it though as we will all be meeting at the wrong place on the wrong day, my organisational skills are somewhat lacking!!
Still ok after 2nd part of cmf cycle 1, taken everything I should, mouth ok, going to work tomorrow after appointment with gynae doc about oopherectomy.Will post again soon. Rachel
Would love to meet again but would be much better for me a bit closer to home. Is there anywhere in Shrewsbury itself as that’s only about 22 miles from Bridgnorth.

Tax 1 was fine until right at the end I had sharp pain in my vein and it blew up like a balloon. They treated it and took fluid off but it is very painful now. Nurse said she would ring tomorrow to check if i was ok! Hope so!
Got loads of antibiotics to take with tax. Will rattle soon i think!

The Armoury is good - does get very busy at weekends. My rads are due to start on 10th August - so will be in Shrewsbury every day!
I’m escaping to Cumbria for the weekend - my sis and her OH are coming across from Suffolk tonight and we’ve got a cottage near Carlisle. Really looking forward to it - my world seems to have been rather small over the past few months!
DJ-The Lakes is my favourite part of England after the Long Mynd. Have a lovely , lovely time-you really deserve it.
I am thinking of taking our caravan to Ludlow or Wentnor just to escape for a few days but somewhere I can still get to Shrewsbury if necessary. Just to get away from same 4 walls would be lovely right now, so will go when schools break up as long as I feel ok.
Shall we go for the armoury then? How about 26th or 27th July. I know that would work for Sue, and hopefully me too. Sounds like that would work for you too Val and DJ. If everyone who’s interested lets me know either on here or by Pm I will book table.
