Hi everyone
I have a painful lump in my left breast. It suddenly started to hurt the day after I drunk a lot of alcohol. My left armpit hurts too and the pain reaches the entire arm. I am terrified. I have an urgent referral appointment on Sunday. I don’t know what to do. Had anyone else this sort of experience?

It may be nothing, or it could be something. Either way, you will worry until you know and you have done the right thing seeing your doctor and referral.
You will be in good hands, regardless of the outcome. We all know on here how worrying it can be, so please use this friendly support group, they have a wealth of knowledge and many comforting words.

We are all here for you, welcome to the forum. Firstly I’m pleased read you have an appointment on Sunday, at the moment we don’t know what’s happening, until you have seen a consultation.
I think my advice would be to have a notepad to hand, write down what ever you feel you need to asked on the day, taking one day at a time at the moment all very easy for me to say when you are feeling so anxious, not sure what way to turn.

Unfortunately nobody but the professionals can tell you what it is or isn’t and that’s one of the hardest things about this process - there isn’t anything you can do you just just have to wait . Keep busy don’t drink too much caffeine talk to a good friend and take one day at a time . It sounds as though you’re blaming yourself somehow and that is something that many of us have done but it often boils down to luck . Please resist the temptation to Google - a lot of information on there is out of date and any information would need to be filtered through a medical professional to be meaningful to a particular case and until you have your appointment there’s nothing to go on except the fact that you have a lump and that there’s a change . Hang in there reach out if you need to and let us know how it goes . If the pain is bothersome take some mild pain relief and see if that helps and keep your arm moving but If you want to discuss it in further detail with the Nurses the helpline will be open tomorrow from 8am 0808 800 6000
