Is it just glandular tissue?

Hi everyone. New to posting here

im looking to see if anyone else has experienced similar. I found what I thought was a lump just before Xmas in my left breast, after having tender breasts, with a tingling and burning feeling in my left breast that’s been consistently there. I went to the GP who said she could feel something but it was most likely a cyst, glandular tissue or a fibroadenoma. Her notes said “small 2cm discrete lunp most likely benign”. I had my referral today at the breast clinic and the consultant wasn’t particularly friendly. She said on the examination she couldn’t feel anything and asked me to show her where, but again couldn’t feel anything. She said she would send me for an ultrasound just to be safe anyway. I had this and the lady was lovely, scanned me twice because I said one place in particular was sore and she was confident there was nothing there and what we had felt was dense glandular tissue instead. Whilst I’m obviously over the moon about this, I’ve got a niggling thought because I’m still getting the tingling and tender sensation, and that isn’t because of glandular tissue. Has anyone had similar and found what this was linked to?

I’m wondering whether it could be hormonal or nerve related. I have a full blood test upcoming on Friday too so hopefully that sheds abit more light!

Hello, I think the general advice even after an ultrasound is to leave it alone, dont over prod it and after each of your periods, when your boobs have settled down a bit from the hormones, feel again. Just once per month. This is so you can feel for changes.

Any changes at all then get referred again. It wont do any harm them having a little map of your boobs on file and they would much rather you keep getting it checked than just leave it

Thank you!

I think half my battle now is that I’m going to be over cautious now and think everything’s a new lump or Bump when it isn’t. Until recently I’ve never really checked much!

I’m due on my period this weekend (wasn’t sure if that would affect the ultrasound) but I’ll maybe leave it this month to check after just having an examination and ultrasound today and start checking again next month!

Thanks for getting back to me xx
