Hi all my problem is my periods. No periods since last december, done the chemo then the op followed by the rads, now i bleed constantly have done for a fortnight only light but is it the return of a regular cycle or is this part of the menopause or could it be something more sinister?
I would get it checked out…better being safe than sorry
Anita
My periods stopped in February, I finished chemo end March and had my first period again in July - it lasted a month and went from very light to very heavy (I’ve never had heavy periods) and then very light. I have since had a more normal period about a month later. It’s probably just your system trying to get back to normal.

You can get a blood test done to determine whether you are going down the route of menopause. My periods stopped in Nov 2006 with the start of chemo and I had it confirmed in Oct last year that I was post menopausal. My oncology clinic were able to refer me to a menopause clinic who recommended what my GP should prescribe to alleviate things like vaginal dryness, flushes and mood swings.
Jinpip! Hiya! Funnily enough I was thinking about you today and wondering how you are. Sorry to hear about the periods prob; mine haven’t returned and I’m suffering with hot flushes at the mo. I’m almost half way through rads now and I’m back at work, just for a couple of hours each morning.
E mail me and let me know how things are going for you?
Take care xxxxx
cheers all, for your input, was goin to book in at docs but shazza you have confirmed what i thought it could be, so i will bear with it abit longer. Had the blood test done a couple of weeks ago cherub but never got round to getting the results! To be honest, had enough of doctors and appointments just wanting normal life for awhile!
Hiya lizaRad fab u r on the home run with rads a pain in the watsit havin to be there every day, glad you are closer to clinic than i was, sometimes took up 5 hours of my day, with the transport etc.
When you get your hot flushes do you just feel them or are you glowing like a nuclear reactor!! When i had them i only felt them but sweat would roll down the back of my bald head ! Gone now tho. Will e-mail you shortly fill you in on my gossip!!!
Again thanks all, and anita that was good advice, logical solutions are sometimes harder to follow without being prepared for the results tho (if you get my drift) !
