Is it worth trying a cold cap?? EC and Taxel

I’m due to start my chemo in the next week or so and am just thinking about whether to try a cold cap or not. I’ll be having 4 x EC followed by 9-12 weekly sessions of taxel. I know having the cold cap makes the treatments longer and more unpleasant and am just wondering whether it’s worth giving it a go. My brain is all over the place and I’m currently worrying myself silly that the treatments work work or I’ll end up with severe reactions, which I’m sure is all normal before you’ve started.
I’d really grateful for any advice or hand holding. Thank you.

Hi I had pretty much the same treatment and tried  the cold cap it worked for me . My hair thinned and I lost a fair bit but was not noticeable unless you knew …. Not for wry one but the discomfort only lasted 10 minutes each chemo much longer though . Seriously hated the thought of being bald so personally would say give it a go

Hi I am on Paclitaxel x12 and have been cold capping. I have one cycle left and still have all my hair. I too had doubts about whether to cold cap but am glad I did. The first 15 mins are a bit uncomfortable but then you stop noticing. I find that distracting myself with a good book helps! Also, if your unit has heated chairs they really help too. Good luck!
