i just finished rad treatment on friday to my left breast i had a lumpectomy cnb. my breast is swollen but my main concern is my areola which is twice the size of my other side and very painfull. has anyone else had this experience??/ wud be gratefull for any feed bac thank u suexx
I have lymphodeama in my breast, one year post-surgery it is still maybe 50% bigger than the other one, and the nipple is distended, pale and quite hard. I’ve had it looked at numerous times by oncologist, surgeon, BCN and GP and they all say it’s OK and will gradually go down over a couple of years - which indeed it has - though it may never go quite back to normal.
My advice would be to get it looked at every time you go for a check-up, but try not to fret too much about it as it does seem to fade, though very slowly. It doesn’t seem to be a sign of trubbble - I just had my first year mamo and it was fine (phew!)
