It really DOES get better!

Hello Ladies,

I just want to tell you girls that are at an early stage in the adventure, that you WILL feel better.

I am in my early 50s. 16 weeks ago I had surgery with complications, so had three general anaesthetics in a very short space of time. I went through radiotherapy and started tamoxifen and felt awful, as you do.

HOWEVER, yesterday I climbed Cader Idris. 2900 feet of ascent in beautiful autumn sunshine until we got to the top, when the mist came down. Anyway, I feel great, and back to normal.

So hang in there everyone. The fog does clear eventually.

thank you oldgrof- its always a pick-me-up to hear good news when it seems like it’ll be like this forever.
Congratulations on your climb.

Thank you for the encouragement.

I start my chemo tomorrow before going on to RADS and am unlikely to finish until April next year.

It is good to know it really does get better.

Well done on your climb

Thanks for the encouragement. I am in cycle 3 of chemo and getting very tired. Struggled out of bed today. Things that keeps me going are memories of walks and climbs and the thought that soon I will be
doing it again!

Well done to you and good luck to all

Hello

I had a lumpectomy, 6 rounds of chemo where I got very sick for 4 of them, the anti sickness tablets did not work and I was hopitalised for one of them. Last two were ok with a different drug. Then radiotherapy for 3 weeks and electron therapy for one. Now on Tamoxifin. menopausal symptoms started big time. On saying all that I now feel better than I have for a long time, skin clear, eyes bright, hair growing back silver (funny I thought it would grow back the colour I had dyed it for so long). I am back at work tomorrow on a reduced week. It does get better. Its a miserable road getting here but one you do …fireworks…
