It’s good to read that your recovery is going well following your surgery for breast cancer. And it’s understandable you’re wanting to know if the itching you’ve noticed is normal.
Itching is very common and can have a variety of causes. Changes in sensation, including itching can sometimes occur after surgery.
As you have noticed this in both your armpits, you can mention it to your treatment team or make an appointment to see your GP. They can examine you, provide more information about what the cause might be and advise on what might help.
People often have questions and concerns following a diagnosis of and treatment for breast cancer and you’re not being overly dramatic by asking questions. We offer a range of free supportive services for anyone who has had a diagnosis of breast cancer which you may be interested in. They include face to face and online courses and events.
