Hi I am just looking for some advice please.
I have been referred to the Breast Clinic after asking my GP to check out an itchy spot on my breast which I have had for the past 7 weeks.
It’s about the size of the old 5p coin and thick to the touch, a bit like a wart but white (no pigment)
I don’t appear to have any other symptoms apart from when she pushed the area it felt a bit sore inside.
I only recently had a mammogram after suffering breast pain in the opposite breast …which turned out to be referred rib pain caused my arthritis…my breasts were fine.
I feel a bit anxious about returning to the breast clinic because I am worried they will think I’m a hypochondriac going back with another symptom which will probably be nothing.
I’m just wondering if anyone else has had any similar symptom to this?
Many thanks
Dear frenchmarigold,
Sorry that you have a worry like this - there’s only one way to get past the worry. Your doctor thinks its worth checking out. If it turns out to be Nothing Serious then everybody will be pleased. So don’t fret, just do what you need to do. The staff at the Breast Clinic will be sympathetic and helpful.
Sorry to hear about your arthritis. It makes my Mum feel so miserable sometimes, and I had it briefly as a child. Luckily not now.
Its a bit wierd I know, but thoughts sometimes go through my head like “thank goodness I haven’t got Ebola”, “those poor people with Alzheimers…”. What am I trying to say? Arthritis is something that you’d rather not have but you are dealing with what it does to you. Cancer is something that you can deal with too. I sincerely hope you won’t have to, but the strengths you would need are already with you.
best wishes
J
