ITV West News Gents,
I’ve just made my first break through and was intrviewed for ITV West News and I have just finished watching myself on the Lunch time bulletin.
They are going to run the feature all day on the regional news and combine it with an interview with an Oncologist from Frenchay Hospital in Bristol for subsequent bulletins.
The reporter was quite interested in possibly getting more men together and look at a feature with differing perspectives. I have his card if anyone would be interested.

It all comes at once. Hi fellas,
I was quite pleased with the ITV West thing yesterday, they showed some of the interview in each bulletin thoroughout the day, so it must have been seen by a good number of people and indeed the phone hardly stopped ringing after the evening news. They even backed up the story with an oncologists view and he fully supported the issue.
If that wasn’t enough, a reporter from the local rag came to talk to me later in the evening and is going to run an article about the way the local support groups have shunned me and aim to raise awareness in the local community.
A county newspaper is interested in running a story too, just a shame we don’t have anything National at the moment.
Keep plugging away fellas.

I have not heard a thing from the BBC since Monday - I hope they come back to me and give me an opportunity in getting the Man side of Breast Cancer across.

thanks Thanks David, and yes it does feel better that i have managed to achieve something at last.
I will try and make a few calls and see if there is any interest on a National scale about getting three or four of us together to do a whole show to increase awareness.
You never know, more examples and differing circumstances with the same goal and a common disease might make some media sit up and see it needs to be done.
