Hi ladies,
I read a lot of threads and more and more of you talk about juicing and supplements. I have no idea but would like to start making some to help boost immune system and to beat this dreadful disease. I was dx 2010 her2+ - 8 x chemo, lumpectomy and 30 rads. Nov 2013 sbc lungs and bones. Just finished 7 chemo now just herceptin , perjeta and bone injection .
I must say I’m probably the most unhealthy person on here - so any good recipes much appreciated or supplements etc. I find when you use the internet there are so many you’re not sure so I end up not bothering.
Take care

Hi chocolates
I’ve been juicing for a while now but if you go to superjuiceme.com you will find many recipes/
The supplements I take are: Cod Liver Oil, Vitamin D3, Vitamin B6, Multivitamins and Zinc.
I also have Apricot husks with pineapple chunks every morning.
Hope this helps.

Thanks dani and elliedog. I need to get myself into gear here. Despite my dx I intend to go back to work next month so need to get into a regime now so I’m sorted. I’m not going to sit at home wondering how much time I have left. My kids also need some normality so back to work it is. I’ll let you know how my juicing goes. Do you use a machine and if so which one is best? Can’t afford too much but need it to be robust. Take care ladies and thanks for info. Much appreciated. xxxxx
Hi - I juice too (I have been using a nutribullet but they are a bit pricey). But there are also lots of naughty things in my diet aswell
and still way too much wine (must address this). I would just say though if you are going to look into supplements etc then run them past your BCN or Onc first - I was sent a massive bag of Apricot Kernals by a friend and wasn’t allowed to have them! I was also told to stop taking any supplements when I was diagnosed with primary (although my mum was told the opposite)! You will need to check nothing will interfere with the Perjeta trial unfortunately! xx
Thanks SDP. Seeing oncologist tonight so will add this to my list of questions!!
Just typed and lost reply!
Get yourself a Ninja blender/juicer from QVC, the shopping channel. They are brilliant for blending, mixing and chopping all sorts and are less than £30 delivered. You can put the peel from the fruit in and use whatever you fancy, is in season or at a reduced price. Very quick to do. As I am immobile at the mo after an op, my OH makes me juice flavours and I am easily amused guessing what is in them. Quite often it’s banana, apple, pear, strawberry type of mix. I think it helps my bowels too as some roughage gets minced up too, although you can’t taste anything like peel. Literally only take 2 mins to make a juice or you can add yoghurt, milk etc to make it more smoothie.
If you give up on juice, the machine can be used for cake mixture!

Hi. I started juicing within 5 weeks of being dia with mets to lungs and bones last May. I see a herbalist who specialises in cancer and I take alot of supplements each day - and I mean alot. I have a strict routine and cut out all sugar - but do enjoy some red wine at the weekend. I have a scan at the end of May - results beginning of June and this will be my first indication if any of this is working. My last scan was after my chemo so couldn’t really tell. I feel really well - I am still working full time and cycling to work and doing alot of exercise. If my scan is bad news I will have to reconsider.
Hi everyone. I first signed up last year when I had been diagnosed with breast cancer but haven’t used the forum yet. After having mastectomy, lymph node removal, chemo and radio I had a spine fracture - all of which kept me pretty occupied. Yesterday I heard that I have mets in breast bone and liver. It was a blow but reading comments on the forum have really uplifted me. I’m a fighter and I’m ready for round two. I’m starting chemo (Abraxane) next week but I’m particularly keen on keeping up a nutritional approach in my fight plan. Ive developed my own ideas from loads of research but I’m keen to get some specialist support with this. Can anyone recommend a good herbalist/nutritionist? I live in Blackpool but could travel.
Many thanks
