Julia - A Darling Buddie

It is with great sadness that I must let you know that Julia passed away suddenly last night. She had been suffering with a cough since Christmas and it seems as though pneumonia may have taken her from us. I met her via the Darling Buddies thread as I picked up from there that we were being treated by the same oncologist. She was a wonderful, smart, glamorous and extremely supportive friend who encouraged me through some rough times last year. I for one will certainly miss her and I know many of you will too. I know how fond she was of all her Darling Buddies and the strength you all gave to each other. As soon as I have any further information I will of course let you know.

Take care

Dear Sue

Please pass on our sincere condolences to Julia’s family and friends from all at Breast Cancer Care.

Best wishes
Lucy

Thank you all for your kind words. I will write to Julia’s husband to pass on your good wishes.

I’m still in a state of shock, I just can’t believe it as she was so, so well. As I have said, as soon as we know the confirmed cause, I will post on the site.

So sorry to read of another tragic loss to this disease/result of the disease. I didn’t know Julia but pass on my condolences to those who did and her family and friends.

Thank you to everyone remembering our special darling buddy Julia, who posted as Carrieann with a picture of her airedale dog for those that may remember her that way. She was a real fighter with a great sense of humour and often made us laugh at her comments on life. She will be missed by us but even more so by her husband and sister who she often spoke about. She had recently celebrated her 40th anniversary. Thank you Sue for letting us know and so sorry you will not be able to meet up with her as I know she would have bounced you through all the hard bits. I will remember her passion for Jaeger clothes and her cheeky rhyme by Dorothy Parker on my birthday. I wish I had met her as I planned to one day.

As I’ve said on our Buddies thread - what a dreadful shock and loss. She will truly be missed by us all and my thoughts go to her family. Thank you again Sue for letting us know and please, if you have details of her funeral can you either PM them or post on here so we can spend a moment or two thinking of her at the ‘right’ time.

Another life gone too soon.

Hopefully the family had some peaceful time with her.

There must be a lot of souls watching over us all and keeping us safe. Too many. Peace to us all.

So sad to hear of yet another death to this dreadful disease. It is now 2010,35 women die each day 12,000 each year of this disease yet still no sign of a cure.

Such sad news I remember chuckling to her posts on the Darling Buddie’s thread. Thinking of her family and friends.

Love Anne xx
