hi guys can i ask how long from diagnosis did you all go in for mastectomy and was reconstruction surgery explained to you or were you just asked if you wanted reconstruction

I think it was about a month from being told I needed a mastectomy to actually having the surgery. This was back in 2020 so the discussion about the various reconstruction options happened over the phone. The surgeon explained a little of the pros and cons of each option and would have gone into more detail had I wanted. I had a week to think things over and decide what I wanted to do. In the end I decided not to have any reconstruction.
Hi it happened quite quickly, all since January, had mastectomy 4 weeks ago all clear but slight trace in one node so now starting chemo a week Monday I have decided not to have reconstruction but I am 66 but did have some good info
