Just diagnosed and wanting to talk to people who understand

Cancer gets boring after a while…Wonder how Sarah and Francine got on?

I have Tamoxifen .There are quite ladies on the August(Darling Rads of August) radiotherapy thread who do though if you want to pick their brains.R u having problems with it?

Yes me and a few others. Touch wood I’m ok on it in the main but it’s bad for bone density and I have osteoporosis so may have to change grrrr x

Yep just waiting for the Sarah and franc ine updates  hope they both got good news:) need some today  x

Evening ladies. Saw the lovely surgeon today and we decided that we would go for another lumpectomy rather than a mastectomy at this stage. He doesn’t want me to undergo a longer anaesthetic than I have to at the moment because of my bowel problems. If the third one doesn’t get clear margins then I will have a mastectomy later in the year. I’m happy with that decision and relieved. Let’s just hope they do get a clear margin, could do with some good luck! Having the op on the 28th and they will keep me in for a day or so, to make sure I’m OK. Pre op check on 16th, more swabbing, blood letting and heart monitoring, just for a change. Yet more opportunities to get my boobs out, hooray. You never know I might actually get rid of the b*****y BC before Xmas at this rate. It’s like having a guest that stays on when everyone else has left the party! I wonder how Sarah got on? X Francine

Glad you feel better and have clear plan Francine, hate to disappoint you but I don’t think you need to get your boobs out for pre op checks… 3 lumpectomies you are certainly going to be an expert in the procedure!!

You sound a lot more positive Francine. Its good be isn’t being excessive unnecessarily. Glad you are feeling better about it all and yes, a good analogy 're unwanted visitor! Kick it’s butt the he’ll out of there! Lol x

Hi ladies it’s such good news. It hasn’t spread anywhere else so I now know I’m cancer free! Chemo starts on the 24th! I can deal with that now I know it’s nowhere else. I want to thank you all so much I would have told you earlier but my wifi didn’t work. Chocolate covered sprouts sounds great. So pleased all ok with you francine. You ladies have become really important to me and can’t thank you enough for being there xxxxxxxxxxx

Told you those nodes would have done their job!!!Hope you have a couple of drinks to celebrate ,forget the sprouts today …

Oh my God I’m nearly crying here for you Sarah! Fantastic news! You must be soooooo relieved! Yeas! Go celebrate…another victory. X x x

Francine sorry I’ve tried to get on here all afternoon. Hope you are ok with everything. I have been thinking about you all day and don’t feel like I portrayed that in last message. Just got a bit over excited that I got I here sending you lots of hugs xxxxxxxxxx

You definitely get a slump post op SB and you’ve done this twice haven’t you?? When do you know what happens next?

Oh Sarah, amazing news, sooo pleased for you. Just (!) the chemo to get through and you can say goodbye to the unwelcome guest. You can award yourself booze and choccies, no sprouts! I’m thinking of applying for a season ticket at the breast clinic and must have met every BCN in the unit by now, all lovely. Still all feels very surreal, 7 months down the line. Don’t know what I would have done without all the lovely ladies on the forum keeping me going during the dark times ?? to you all. Francine

That’s Great News Francine a date to get rid of the c!! That will come round quickly. Sarah , great news , now time to battle the chemo. I think I may end up with chemo but I won’t know until next Wednesday. Then we will be going through it together. Spongebob - chin up think we all have had post op bad days…and now for vodka… Cheers ladies xx

Yes ,my son gets his results next week too.Im finding it weird being so detached from the “non cancer” world.

AS levels, he’s 17.

My son just starting driving lessons was 17 in June, expensive business …

Gosh, feeling rather old now, my daughter is 32! But I still remember sitting in the car outside her school waiting for GCSE results(I wasn’t allowed in!) She has dyspraxia and found exams difficult but needed five at grade C or above to study media at college. I was so proud when she got them, did 2 yrs at college, went to uni and got a 2:1. She has determination in spades, bless her. Like to think it comes from my side of the family, lol.

Goes by in a flash Francine…

SB what sort of books are you into?
