Just diagnosed and wanting to talk to people who understand

Thank you I know it’s going to be a rough ride and worried that I’ve not been to kind to my body over the years. Some on the ladies on other threads seem super fit and I hope I can cope as well as them. But love seeing all the good stories about how people got through it so I’m copying them! And looking forward to having a celebratory drink like you next year. Xxxxxxx

I’ve not been kind to my body either but what can I say, I was a party animal! no regrets x next year? When will your treatment finish? X

I’ve been the same as you over the years and a smoker… I calmed right down when I had my kids but I was a publican. My kids are grown up now so I have been going out more again I gave the cigs up before op but started again when they told me I had to have scan. Thankfully that was good news  I’m having 6 lots of chemo and 4 weeks of rads and then another op to make boobs even up. Like you I love those years met some brliliant people happy times. Xxxxxx

What you need is to eat more sprouts…

Ha ha ha jill…howling! X Sarah I smoke too but stopping on 15 th…day after my party. Told my daughter I would after treatment ( like I could stop going through this!) Read allan Carr’s easy way to stop. It’s great and you smoke as you read it  lol. X

My husband gave up after reading that book.

Jill you are funny  love it I think I’m going to have to try these sprouts. I had banana wrapped in bacon at a BBQ once and it was strangely nice! I’m giving up smoking again tomorrow they have given me some patches this time they wouldn’t give them to me pre operation. I have got the Allen Carr book in my attic so I will get my son to get it out for me. And giving up when going through this is so hard but oncologist said it’s a big no no for chemo! I don’t want to know the reasons why as I dont want anymore worry. You must have been as worried about your ct scan as I was? How old are your kids? My kids are grown up now 18 and 27. And they want me to give up too. We can encourage each other not to have one. We can be addicted to sprouts instead  xxxxxxx

Yes, we have been working on a cure for the side effects of Tamoxifen, we were looking at chocolate covered vodka injected sprouts …but they were so disgusting we have shelved that idea and gone back to twiglets and Galaxy…We are a bit bonkers but a bit of humour helps!!!

Last post meant for Fiona, welcome to our intellectual thread !!!

I will be on these tablets after my rads next year. So I will stock up all these lovely things beforehand. xxxxx

Hi Fiona sorry to hear about your diagnosis and hope you will find some comfort on here through this tough time. I think we are all a bit bonkers on here but a bit of humour is a such a great way to get through. We are all here to support each other and I’m sure this thread will help xxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hi sheena. Pretty much the same message  great minds  xxxxx

Good to hear a success with the Allen Carr book. Thanks Jill xxx

Guess we are all on the same page …

So true xxxx

When posts cross can be a bit
of a bizarre conversation !!Yes,he read it and said it completely changed how he felt about fags,

You may have to stick with twiglets if you can’t cope with the sprouts .Fiona…Yes,bonkers does help most of the time …

Hi Fiona waitng for results is the worst. Like you found a lump got the results so they sent me for an m.r.i and they found 2 more but they had to do biopsy to see if they were cancer. That part is hard you dont know if your coming or going. You will have down days but once they can tell you more information and thenthey can tell you what they can do it makes things easier. Lots of love to you xxxxx

Did he die cos of smoking ?That would be ironic …

I will do that no sacrifice  xxxxxxxx
