I did say the bit about not attending 8 week review as I will be at hospital every day for 3 weeks though …what useful purpose will that serve, manager said she will talk to her manager…Also said I won’t be back until I have properly recovered from rads. She was ok actually, acknowledged they have a one size fits all sickness policy ,but it is “policy”.
Funny Jill! X
Blinking policies… They don’t seem to have one for ongoing cancer treatment you just end up with lots of reviews because your sickness “has been for too long” “too many instances” it should be tailored to circumstances. Having said that my lot are being OK. I know I can have 6 months full pay but I want to try and work between when I feel fit x
Same here, full pay for 6 months but don’t want me to go back as it means they have to start afresh with fist 10 days self certifying. .something like that. I’m lucky to have no work issues x
I would be treated differently if I had gone back in too ,it would have been seen as repeated absences rather than long term sick and dealt with in a less sympathetic way.Daft isn’t it.
Stupid isn’t it. It would make more sense for you to work when u are feeling ok and just use sickness when you need too. Blinking policies. Think I will just see what happens. Only had 3 weeks do far x
It’s hard to understand sometimes the people that write these policies especially with cancer so you make the effort to go in at the hardest time of your life and then when you need time off to continue your treatment that you would get penalised for it!
Yes crazy…so the moral of the story is stay off as long as you can! I intend too. x
So true xxxxxx
Advantages and disadvantages of both I guess.Im guessing if you don’t work you don’t get paid, or do you have insurance that covers it?
That’s good, you can work when you feel up to it and rest when you don’t.
I’m guessing she has gone to the pub whatever the outcome…don’t blame her…
Yep ,then come home for a large box of chocolate sprouts…and vodka…twiglets …cheddars and galaxy…
Hi all, results were not as good as hoped. Good news the masectomy removed Kylie and Jason plus another one … But the snb showed the bugger has spread so I am having a full auxiliary clearance next Tuesday ( another overnight stay in hospital) they are going to take the drains out on the Friday so I can still go on my holiday then when back and healed chemo it is x need vodka and galaxy now xx
Bummer , 2 bars of galaxy needed. As I said to Sarah ,just because it is in your nodes doesn’t mean it has gone anywhere beyond it’s their job to catch the cancer and stop that.Op next week will get rid of the bugger for good, chemo a precaution ,like rads is for me,stop it coming back .
Ange sending big hugs to you. You deserve galaxy vodka the whole lot. It’s not nice news for anyone but sounds like they are going to get rid very quickly. I’m here if you need to talk about anything I’m not the expert at the moment but start chemo a week Monday so if I can give any tips to help you in advance. Just think about getting your op out way and look forward to your holiday xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Bloody cancer it’s a bugger isn’t it…how dare it spoil our lives … I will continue working on universal cancer vaccine so that my employers will be happy and we don’t have to go here again…
Oh ange sorry to hear this…bstd disease! Glad you have a holiday booked, come back fighting x x x
Thank you ladies this b@"()y cancer is not gonna get me!! Still fighting and will continue to do so. One day at a time… Xxx
