I was diagnosed with dcis on Tuesday though had further biopsy done on boundaries do to size of tumour being right on the edges of duct. Thing is Im reading some posts and they have breviations like …wle and snb…And I like other newbies dont understand . Can anyone help plz.

The link gives you all the abbreviations, and is hepful (this is the first time i’ve seen it so it will be useful for me too). Just to say that my first surgery was wle (wide local excision) and snb (sentinel node biopsy). Wle is the op whereby the cancerous tissue is removed - snb is to check if the cancer is in the lymph nodes (from where it can spread to other parts of the body). These were done at the same time for me, and this appears to be the case for a number of ladies on here. Hope this helps. Xx
