Getting a bit scared, 9/3/12 was when I was diagnosed, and I am still waiting for a date for surgery. My lump is 4 times the size it was and I now have a noticeable lump under my arm. I get a lot of pain from it and just want to know if this is normal - as in the pain, the growth and the wait? Love to all of you x
Steamyfi contacy your nurse and ask her hun…and ask her what is going on…its a nightmare waiting isnt it…take care hun…hugs to you…xxxx janjan I would like to add you on fb…could you please eamil me your details…xxxx
I will not know if my cancer has spread until after my mastectomy when they will do a sentinal node biopsy. I think this is one of the reasons I am feeling so low.
I have one more day at work then 3 days holiday and after that will have to sign off sick. I have to deal with the public everyday and find it so hard to “act normal” My workmates do not know and very few of my friends do. All I want is the op then I can start fighting. Thanks for the kind messages, but I wish I could be more supportive to you, trouble is I’m only just keeping my head above water - or out of the sand!!! xx
Hello!
I found a lump in my left breast 2 months ago. My GP referred me to the breast clinic where on March 8 2012 I had a mammogram, ultrasound and biopsy. On March 16 2012 I was diagnosed with BC. On March 27 2012 I had a lumpectomy and sentinel node biopsy.
I am currently recovering from the surgery and waiting for my follow up appointment in 3 days to finally find out whether or not all the cancerous cells have been removed and whether or not the cancer has spread and to find out what comes next treatment wise.
The first weeks were like a crazy haze and very surreal. Now after the surgery it is slowly sinking in. The worst though is the waiting and not knowing… It’s a scary place…
hi steamyfi,
I know what you mean about just keeping your head above water. Went to the docs today and got some anti anxiety medicine. Haven’t needed to use it, yet, as just talking to a sympathetic doctor has helped. Don’t know if this would help you too.
Hi Eve76
I couldn’t agree more. The waiting is awful. Hope all goes well in 3 days.

Hi 1J,
thank you! Wishing you the same.

Hi - diagnosed with breast cancer on March 23 - a real shock to both myself and my doctor as I had orginally gone to the doctor with a sore shoulder, got chatting and told her my breast felt heavy - did all the stuff at the breast clinic and was booked in for a masectomy and recontruction on the 13/4 - operation cancelled on the 30/03 and now booked in the 20/04 - its the waiting I find the hardest - I have four children under ten and am a single parent working in the emergency services - its alright when I am busy but cannot sleep at night and being a single parent worried about mortgage and getting the children to school - silly ah when obviously the most important thing is to get this sorted - can handle the lost of the breast but it was the consultant telling me the nipple had to go that really upset me. Love to you all - reading the comments has helped me.
