Just diagnosed with triple negative caner

Hallo,
sorry for the poor English! I was diagnosed TN in 2008, Grade 3, tumour 2 cm, Stage 1, and after 7 chemos (taxan+ doxorub.), 1 mastect., another breast and ovaries prophilact. removes. I’m fine, my hair is nice, I go to the next plastic surg. in next month. I get HRT “tibolone”, it’s helps avoid menopausal sympts. Have strong family problems, too, and my daughter is BRCA 1 positive, too.

I wish many power, good news and health for everybody.

Hi - I was DX 7 weeks ago - have since had mastectomy - 3mm lobular cancer also DCIS, and 11/25 lymph nodes affected and also TNBC - gutted to say the least. However having read these posts I am feeling a little more positive! My bone scan was clear as was a chest x-ray, am waiting to have CT scan on Wednesday. I am having my first Chemo on Friday and frankly dreading it - not least because I have a major needle phobia. I am being given FEC (3) and T (3)and then it will be followed up with radiation. I do not know how many yet. Hopefully in the Autumn next year I will have a reconstruction.

I am 53, married with a 17 yr old son who is taking it all very badly. We haven’t told him about the TN as didn’t want to frighten him any more! It’s bad enough me being frightened!

Thanks for all the positives!

Hi I was diagnosed with BC on may 11th and found out it was TN mid june. Ever since its scared me as whatever you seem to read about TN makes you think it will just come back.
However i came across this thread and it gives us TN ladies hope ,thank you so much to the ladies on here who have kindly posted their stories of no recurennces you have all made me smile again.
I just thought i would comment and bring this thread back on again so that if there are any more TN ladies out there as scared as i was this should make you feel a bit better.
Thanks again for this thread .Love Sharon xx

Hi girls,

havent been on here for a while but just everyone is doing OK and treatments etc are going well, thinking of you all

I am hormone negative,is this what you are talking about?
I’m getting worried now about reaccurance.
I have recently had a mastectomy and recon. I did actually ask the surgeon before the op to do the other boob as well but as he thought the cancer was non invasive he said I didn’t need to do this.
Now I’m thinking that I should have had a double mastectomy.
Does anyone know the chances of it coming back in the other breast if you are TN?
x

Apparantly the results haven’t all come back so I may not be triple negative

hi, im 44, got 5 children and live in southern england, was diagnosed with breast cancer 2010 had lumpectomy, chemo, radiotherapy all was looking good lymph nodes were clear… last month i found another lump and have been told its back, grade 4, spread to lymph nodes and chest wall and been told its incurable and all they can do is to try and shrink it with more chemotherapy, also mine is triple negative x

darjo, I had EC in 2006 and was given Metaclopromide anti sickness - i swore i was not going back for more…it transpired i was allergic to the antisickness tablet

Hi Jo
Nice to hear from you and that you are doing well. My little scare was cysts caused by raditherapy! All check ups ok since then, but have appt with Lymphoedema nurse as arm all swollen oh the joys of treatment!!!

idc/dic - I was diagnosed this but how is triple different? I had the lump removed and 1 clear node and was told it was hormonal not genetic - i have tamoxifen and have just started 3 weeks of rads - seems to be so many different types of all cancers?

Hi white feather,

I’m in the same position as you at the age of 38 and with a daughter of 5, it’s an awful thing to be told and all you can do is stay positive, though easier said than done some days! I’m on a trial in Mexico at the mo to try and shrink my liver mets and skin mets. Coming back to the uk and have a referral to the royal marsden in Chelsea as want to go to a specialised cancer hospital. Where do you go?

Best wishes,

Julie xxxxx

Totally confused-if you are having tamoxifen then you are hormone positive not tn
I am still fine and in October will be 6 yrs from tn dx.

Diagnosed TNC earlier this month - grade 3 2.5cm tumour. Lymph nodes looked Ok on ultrasound and had SNLB yesterday so waiting to hear for sure. CT scan didn’t show any secondaries. I start chemo next week, I’m on the ARTemis trial so 3x Docetaxel & Avastin to start with, then one more Avastin with the first of 3x FEC. Hoping to shrink the tumour so lumpectomy possible in January. I just want to get started on the chemo and start killing this thing.

Hi fiona and claire… Good luck with your treatment… Hope the artemis trial goes well fiona… Claire what chemo are you getting? I had Epi-CMF for primary TNBC and Carbo/Tax for the recurrence last year… Hard going but through it now and back to work.

all the best ladies x
