Just diagnosed with triple negative caner

Hi jellymould

most TNBC won’t rear it’s head again but it’s more likely to do so than hormone positive bc especially in the early years. But more and more treatments are being developed and so in the future this may not be the case also the stats look at the last 10 years and not the next 10. And TNBC was only identified within that time so the next 10 years could be entirely different prospects anyway.

If you had a wle and were node neg it sounds more likely that you are stage 1 (stage refers to how far the disease has spread) and Most likely grade 3 (how fast growing the cells are) most TNBC is grade 3 and only ever heard of a couple of older ladies with grade 2 and never heard of anybody with grade 1 TNBC. So sounds like yours is aggressive but caught early. And this means treatment is a given as a belt and braces approach. Chemo is pretty standard for TNBC and although its not nice it’s manageable. Hope your treatment goes well.

Stay in touch and let us know how you are getting on.

I can’t believe its over 2 years ago since I started this thread - hope everyone is doing OK and keeping well x

Hi, dx tn imflammotry breast cancer in December, finished six months of chemo a fortnight ago. I had a lucky bonus in that my hair started growing back during chemo about an inch long now and has come back curly where it was straight before, downside its come back grey oh well nothing dye cant fix. I was also lucky as I did not completley loose my eyebrows. I hope everyone going through treatment is doing well, if you can afford it I thoroughly recommend going out and treating yourself to a new outfit it really does pick you up. All the best.
