Finding it difficult to take everything in at the moment. Got given the news yesterday and booked in for surgery next Thursday.
Not sure if its best to read up more about the condition or just deal with each hurdle as I reach it!
I work in a GP surgery so maybe I am being given too much information and advice. At the moment I feel like I have hit rock bottom so lets hope things will get better.

Hi Juro,
Sorry to hear your news. I hope you soon come to terms with the news so you can concentrate on your treatment and recovery.
Best wishes,
MEC
SORRY 4 your news y/day it will get better take each day as it comes im also due for surgery next thursday any consolation im scared to these are normal feelings you take care of yourself
Hi Juro
I’m sorry you find yourself here, but its a great place for support and advice. Its always hard at the beginning but things get easier when you know your treatment plan. I think its wise to avoid reading too much about this condition until you know your grade and stage; you may worry yourself unnecessarily. I’m a Nurse and had far too much insight for my own good!

Thanks for giving such speedy responses, its quite scary that there are so many of us out there. I will keep my fingers crossed for you on Thursday Elaine - have you only just found out, or have you been having other treatment?
Just finished 6months of chemo to shrink my tummor it worked thank god was 90mm got it down to under 2mm
meant to say 20mm
Hi Elaine
Glad the chemo worked so well for you.I think that is one of my worst fears regarding treatment. How have you managed with it all?
Hi Juro,
It really is terrifying finding out about all this. You can’t imagine being able to get through it all but you will. It wont be as bad as you think. Just get lots of advice every step of the way from the people on this site and try and deal with one thing at a time.
I finished chemo last dec and then had radiotherapy.
Sending lots of love xx
its everyones fear chemo its very normal to feel this you will do it be good 2 yourself rest when yr body tells you theres a lot of woman on here to listen to your issues no matter how small you think they r stupid they mite sound just ask we are all in the same boat.TAKE CARE
Don’t google too much. You’ll scare yourself silly. I made that mistake when I was dx two and a half years ago. Just cross each bridge as you come to them and don’t look too far ahead.
Just think of it as a blip. If you need chemo, batten down the hatches for a few months, get on with it and you’ll soon be out the other side. It’s a scary ride though but you’ll over it before you know it. It’s a bit like labour - you forget the experience as soon as its over (well not forget, but it loses its impact). I can remember how frightened I was at my first chemo (wanted to get ‘out of there’) but after the first I was tucking into an english breakfast in the hospital canteen.
You’ll be OK.
Mal
Thank you to everyone who has put such postive comments it has really helped.
Thanks Mal for the advice “don’t google to much”, unfortunately I am a practice manager at a doctors surgery so surrounded by too much information although sometimes its helpful!
I feel a lot calmer about things today, but I know as it gets nearer by surgery on Thursday that will change.
Thanks again for all the advice I know this site is going to play a large part in my treatmant.
Best wishes
Julie

Hi Butterfly
Just wanted to say hi and try not to worry about your op too much, i know that’s easier said than done though. The thought is scary but the reality is not as bad as you fear. It will be over before you know it and then the cancer will be gone, which was a good feeling for me.
Let me know if i can help with anything
Lots of love and good luck for your op.

Hi All,
Came out of hospital yesterday, the operation was not as bad as I thought, just feel rather swollen and numb at the moment.
I am hoping to get the results this Wednesday so fingers crossed.
Julie
After a routine mammomgram I was recalled and had an ultrasound and needle core biopsy.Got results last Thurs cancer was confirmed. Booked in for surgery and and sentinel lymph node biopsy next Tues.Glad to hear you feel fine after surgery. I feel very alone as my husband died a few months ago but reading posts on this site helps as you realise how many people feel the same. It is going to be a long week plan to keep busy and clean the house!!
Hi smiley60
Sorry you are going through so much at the moment. You have totally come to the right place for support, this site has been such a support to me. I’m so sorry about your husband that was very recently.
I hope your surgery goes well next week. The treatment is not the easiest but is totally manageable.
Let us know how you get on.
If you need anything just ask, sending you a massive hug
