just had surgery and waiting for treatment at 35

hi
Im new here and dont really know what to say. I found out I had cancer on my 35th birthday after having a funny feeling I would due to family stuff. After husband brerevent at 30 really struggled with the news - to cut a long story short after 5 trips to local hospital decided to have masectomy as lump under arm too - Im the biggest wuzz ever but come through the surgery and apart from having such a huge falsie (docs decided against immediate recon due to lymph node involvement) its only in the one lymph node when expected lot Im doing okayish but think Im kidding myself - so scared off appointment with consultant which Im still waiting for after 7 weeks as so phobic of needles and the whole hair loss, sickness and idea of not living my normal life and people knowing whats wrong with me, Im back at work and getting on with things then it hits me! long and garbled post but anyone in similar position - apparently theres a faulty gene in my family which may cause this and overian cancer as well as my aunt on other side having it and spread to liver - terrifed at mo!
Thanks

Hi Lisa and sorry you had to join us here.

I was dx when I was 34, 2 years ago now.

Just take your time, everything happens soooooo quick, and I certainley was in shock for ages. Tell your bcn/ onc/ surgeon how you are feeling- they will not be surprised- and get help and advice her online, and I can really reccomend the telephone support group, and peer support, sometimes nothing beats having people around you who know exactly how c*ap this all is.

Dont bother about being a wuzz- thats just about normal I couldnt stand all that being brave nonsense.

Take care

Xxsam
