Hi all, I have just started the FEC chemo this week, am just lokking for anyone who is in a similar position really to share experiences. I felt bad for about 24 hours and was sick a couple of times on the first night but feeling half way normal again now. Have been told that the symptoms will get worse as the treatments go on.
Hello,
I’ve had three FEC now. I was sick the first night with the first one, but just felt nauseous with the second two. Just wanted to lie down the first day or two, then a week each time feeling woozy headed and no appetite. My Chemos have been on Thursdays and I start to really pick up the second weekend. I feel more tired this time but apart from that it’s been similar each time. I was quite impatient the first time as I felt half way normal after a couple of days, but then didn’t improve for a few more days.
I’m sure there is someone out there who’s just had their chemo you can journey along with, or join in one of the other threads.
Best wishes. Stella
Hiya - I’m due to have 3FEC and 3TAX and will start on Friday, so we’ll be journeying along at the same time. There are a couple of really good threads on here for support and advice - look up the Pink Road of Chemo one… very busy, but very welcoming - you’ll get loads of support and there are two or three of us on it starting this week, and plenty further along too.

Hi all, nice to know in a way that I am not alone on this. Will have a look at the pink road of chemo.
Am doing well so far, feeling generally ok but my hair has started to come out now so that is a bit upsetting to be honest.
Next one next week, so fingers crossed it goes ok

im glad i read your articles i am due to start the chemo on the 5th jan i am really really scared but i least i know a little of what to expect.
Hi there,
I have reecently finished my 6 courses of FEC chemo…
And i had hardly any side effects!! I felt a bit sicky on the first day - but they can give you all sorts of anti-sickness drugs and also steroids to help with that! If your still finding your sickness is bad tell your Oncologist and they can prescribe you something stronger.
My hair fell out after only two weeks of treatment as i was on such a high dosage (I did try the cold-cap) but i do know of some women who didnt loose thier hair it just went thinner!! I had mine cut short ready incase it did fall out and so many people commented on it saying it looked better than when it was long!! lol! TYPICAL!
Well good luck with your treatment…i hope that it is working well for you. Do you have any nodes involved?
Take care,
