Hi ladies, I am 42, married mum to a 2 yo little girl. I’ve just had my 4th chemo last Thursday, and this was my first Docetaxal. The FEC I handled ok, was tired but I could cope with it, but this first Docetaxel and thrown me. Tiredness, mood swings and achey heavy bones. Im hoping it doesn’t last much longer. What are everyone else’s experiences?? My mood was ok before but this has rocked me. Thanks xxxx
Hi Millasmummy,
I am really sorry to hear you are going through these side effects and I am sure other women will be along to share their experiences and offer their support soon.
You may want to take a look at our downloadable leaflet on Docetaxal. There is also a Facebook group that has been set up for younger women with breast cancer called Younger Breast Cancer Network which is another place to get support from other younger women.
If you would like to talk through your questions you can call our helplineon 0808 800 6000 who will be able to talk to you about Docetaxal and offer a friendly ear. The opening hours are below.

Hi,
I finished my chemo in March and also had FEC T. I found the at much harder to deal with than the FEC and my fingers were so painful and was so tired. They reduced the dose of my last session by 20% which is quite common and it did help. Make sure you tell your oncologist how you have felt and my tip is to rest as much as you can although with a two year old that is not easy. It won’t feel like it now but it will soon be over.
