Just started hormone treatment

Wasn’t sure where to post this. Today I have had my first zoladex injection, still yet to start letrozole and radiotherapy. 

 

I asked my GP to sign me off for as long as possible as I’m not feeling great, not sleeping and got terrible anxiety. He was going to sign me off for 3 week. Not enough I said. I need as long as possible. I asked him for something to help my anxiety and he said let’s see how you go on. 

 

Im not anticipating going back until after Christmas and will now be worrying will I be given another sick note after this. I’ve been for counselling at a cancer centre and was told to take as much time off as I need. Why is my GP being so unsympathetic and unhelpful? That in itself makes me want to cry. Any advice would help settle my mind x

Could you see another GP next time ? Some seem a lot more understanding than others.I think it’s highly unlikely a GP would refuse to give you another sicknote after going through cancer treatment and pressure you to go back to work so try not to worry  .Ive been in a similar situation - 3 weeks isn’t really long enough as after 10 days you are starting to get worried about having to go through the whole process again but it’s very unlikely you won’t get a sicknote .
