Feeling a bit down so I thought I would let off steam by sending a message.
I have done the op, the chemo and radiotherapy and thought “phew, I can start rebuilding my life” only to be referred by my doctor for a full abdomen ultrasound on Friday as she is suspicious of my pains down both sides. I keep trying to tell myself it is my gallstones which are causing the problem, but this doesn’t explain why the pain is on both sides. Aaaarrrgh.
Has anyone else been through this? Any words of reassurance would be so welcome!

Hi Pauline
It is a very very tense time for you and until you get the results you are going to be imagining alsorts of things often the worst case senario. Believe me i know.
I am 2yrs since Dx and nearly 17 months since chemo etc just on tamoxifen. I have just had a MRI scan on my back which thankfully was just a torn tendon not cancer. I had convinced myself it was secondaries.
I just hope that you will be fine, chemo does awful things to us and although i never had rads i know from others that does too and lets hope its your body tryin to get back to some normality. I know other ladies will post and be a great help to you. I have found this site and the ladies on it so helpful and kind.
Let us know how you get on. Try doing other things.
I have just had an ultrasound on my liver, gall bladder, kidneys and pancreas because of pain. I was also worried about secondaries. They didn’t find anything and we assume that the pain is simply caused by IBS - which I’ve had for years and which can cause all sorts of pain in many different parts of my abdomen.
I hope you get similar reassurance when you have your scan on Friday. In the meantime, take very good care of yourself. Will be thinking of you and watching the board for your news.

Thanks for thinking of me. The chap who carried out my ultrasound said that the only dodgy area he could find was my gallbladder - he thinks it has packed up completely. I am due at the Drs this Thursday for definitive info. Apparently the surgon who carried out my WLE is also an expert in removing gallbladders. Looks like I will be paying for his next hols!
I am not sure of your position - are you undergoing treatment or are you in the process of trying to put the whole unfortunate episode behind you?
