I am praying its nothing but a local reoccurance. I had a mastectomy and chemo in 2019 due to a high ocontype score. I have been on tamoxifen for just over 5 years. In june i found a lump near my mastectomy scar. I had a punch biopsy in july, its confirmed its cancer. All i know at the moment is its a grade 2 cancer. I was grade 3 last time. A further ultra sound scan on chest and auxiliary area has shown no other suspicious areas. I had a ct scan on Tuesday and have an appointment Thursday for results.
I am so scared its spread. I feel the best ive ever felt physically…praying this is a good sign.
Has anyone had a local reoccurance only with no spread? I am really trying to stay hopeful
Yeah most people with local recurrences have no spread. Liz O’Riordan has had two local recurrences and once surgery took them out went right back to NED. I am so sorry this is happening but chances are great that it’s going to be just fine. I wouldn’t be surprised if they switched you to letrozole and an ovarian suppression drug after this though.
Ive had local recurrence Grade 2 in my old reconstruction. With no spread on staging scans. Ive had my surgery and results of that and treatment plan due on the 7th August. So im hoping ill be NED after 7th! Good luck with your treatment xx
Hi yes of course although i wont have firm oncology plan till 9th September so youll beat me to it. The surgeon said ill have radiotherapy and hormone treatment. Thats all i know atm. Good luck with your appointment on the 4th!
Hi thank you for your reply. I am expecting radiotherapy. My surgeon mentioned injections (zoladex) and other tablets but that would be up to the oncologist, so may not even be that.
