Hi Alison, I had an LD flap done 22 years ago and was about the same size as you. I am still happy with the outcome and my bra strap covers my scar on my back too. The scars on my breast healed beautifully and have turned very pale. the only odd sensation I get is…if I touch the area below my reconstructed boob, I can feel it on my back! But apart from that all has been well. Feel free to ask any questions before or after your surgery. Hope your wedding day is fantastic. Val
Dear Scotchlass and Pinkrose
Thanks very much for getting back to me, in fact they’ve now decided to try endocrine treatment to see if they can shrink the tumour - but I’ll probably still have to have a mastectomy. I’ve come to terms with it, more or less - thanks to reading your posts and others. But it’s delayed for a little while!
Your comments were of such comfort to me
Thank you
Alison
Hi Alison, I had chemo to reduce the tumour before I had my op. I am taking Femara now. I tried Tamoxofen but that didn’t do anything for me, so then Arimidex, which worked for a few years, then Aromasin for the same length of time, and am now on Femara for 16 months now. So if you are trying any of these let me know! If you need any feedback that is! All the best. Hope it works for you. Val
