left breast changes

Hi, about 5 weeks ago I noticed that my left nipple was ‘dipping’ in to the left. There is like a thumbprint type dent. I went to the doctor and he checked me over and said I would need monthly checks to keep an eye on things as I did have obvious Puckering but no lumps. I had my next exam this morning, and have been referred to the breast clinic. He still couldn’t feel any lumps so hasn’t put it through as urgent but he did say again about puckering… when I lift my arms the skin kind of folds over like a crease where the dent is. I am pretty worried now as I have a nasty habit of googling and the fact that he has actually referred me is scary in itself. I’m hopeful that it’s nothing as he couldn’t feel any lumps. Has anyone else had this? I’m asking for honest advice and don’t think I could be any more worried right now. Thanks x

Hi
I am 38 and have had similar problems like you. I noticed my skin started looking like cellulite sometimes , especially if I leant forward or pulled my skin tight. Also my nipples changed in appearance and these visible blue veins appeared round them -more on the left one. Had pain/tenderness in left and they itched though that did ease off. My GP examined me and said the skin was fine and there was no sign of any lumps/thickening and underarms were ok. Anyway he referred me to the breast clinic for my own reassurance and when I went there the breast nurse examined me and said everything looked normal. She said breasts do change over time. Anyway she still sent me for a mammogram and an ultrasound of left breast just to be on the safe side and both came back clear. Apparently the pain is due to hormones as its not there all the time and they could see swollen glands. Have to take EPO 3x day to see if it helps. I also have a bad habit of googling symptoms and it stressed me out so much I really had to stop. Been told by health pros not to do it either! So both my GP and breast nurse both say everythings normal and neither were concerned about veins or anything. Suppose it shows you can simply just have changes which dont necessarily mean anything bad.

I have a thumb like dent in my breast the Dr had referred me urgently to hospital waiting for an appointment is awful . I have family.history but always though cancer was a lump I Googled and now I’m scared stiff. I know this won’t help calm your mind just wanted you to know your not alone in being scared xx good luck
