Letrozole and hair loss

Hello   Does anyone know if any hair loss / thinning  improves after stopping taking Letrozole please. My hair is showing male pattern baldness and just curious , well, hoping for good news,  for future.

There also seems different opinions amongst oncs about continuing Letrozole after 5 years or not.  suspect some wait for definitive results from drug trials before they change anything, others act on inside info from the researchers.  Maybe we should have a separate thread on this ?

Thanks, appreciate hair loss esp “just” thinning is a minor thing compared to things many on here are facing. Best Wishes to everyone

As far as I know, professional opinions vary on how long to stay on AIs.  I’ve been taking Letrozole since early 2010 and during that time have been told I’ll be on it 5 years, 7 years and 10 years - all by consultants at the some hospital. As you say Kirsty16, strategies vary according to results of relevant studies.

At my latest check-up in October 2013 I was told it’ll probably be 5 years Letrozole, followed by 5 years Tamoxifen.

I am in the same boat as kirsty with anastrozole/Arimidex. Have just finished the 5 years and noticed the loss at the front particularly in the 5th year. Will see what happens now consultant has taken me off. Probably won’t improve but hoping it won’t progress further.
