Letrozole Side Effects Hair Thinning

Hi

Hoping someone can advise, diagnosed in October, chemo lumpectomies etc, cold capped managed to keep hair, been on Letrozole for 3 weeks (Think it is Accord) and now my hair has thinned to the point you can see through it and my scalp, heartbroken is an under statement.

Anyone out there tried other brands?

Welcome to letrozole …I always had accord brand as it was the best of the bunch ! I was lucky my hair was thick before but after over 2 years on it …it did thin a lot …
Try to avoid washing it too often, avoid straighteners and I gave up highlights and colouring to avoid too much hair loss . It might settle down after a while though.

Hi, I can really sympathise, I have been on Letrozole for approaching 3 years, also on Accord, I was dx straight to stage 4 so haven’t had any other treatment. I’ve suffered with periodic hair thinning since I was 16, never had any patches, just generalised thinning, I’ve seen doctors, dermatologists and trichologists, nobody could fully explain why but Philip Kingsley probably came closest. I started taking a supplement called Sun Chlorella A several years ago, and about 2-3 before getting my diagnosis, and ‘touch wood’ can honestly say my hair hasn’t really changed at all. I do still get periods of more shedding but that’s what’s always happened but my hair has grown back, as it did before. I checked this out with my Oncologist who had no problem with me taking it. It isn’t the cheapest supplement but does last several months, Victoria Health stock it if you’re interested in taking a look. Kxx

Hi
Am also on accord brand, and have experienced some thinning, but found that it improved over time.
