Life insurance

Hi, could anyone advise on insurance companies that they have found who are willing to offer life insurance after a cancer diagnosis please? Many thanks x

Usually you have to be NED for 5 years.I cant get any as i’ve had 2 cancers and no one will insure me for critical care either.

Hi, thanks for your reply. That’s a shame, I was hoping for some sort of option, even if paying a higher premium. I have had two cancers too.

Wishing you all the best.x

Was told in my case it would be 15 years NED

Hi Treeze I have spoken to Premiere Protect who will insure after 2 years, I’m not sure how long ago your diagnosis was? They are putting me in touch with another company, I will keep you posted.

Interesting to hear…I was diagnosed 2016 with 2 cancers.Have had chemo radiotherapy two surgeries and am on hormone blockers.I was stage 3.Have high blood pressure and meds for that.Told with my history no one will even consider me and the broker did lots of research. What sort of protection is it can I ask? I can get cover of the sort advertised on tv no medical questions asked which I think I will do.

I can only pay a small amount each month as I only work part time and live alone.

Alabama I have been advised on an over 50’s plan where I will get a lump sum on death or if I become terminal. However, there are always catches…I’ve been told hormone blockers is classed as ongoing treatment so have to be 5 years beyond that treatment…so another 7 years without a recurrence that isnt terminal. In other words it doesnt cover me if I get another cancer, unless I die from it.

Hi Treeze, it’s very unfair isn’t it. I have been liaising with Insurance surgery, but as you say there are lots of exceptions, which makes it very difficult to know whether it’s worth paying the premiums!

Yes I’m seeing him today and think I’ll.go ahead and if I’m around to claim it will be a bonus.but honestly…ever the optimist!..I doubt I will be.I only want to stay on anastrozole for 5 yrs though doubtless my onc will want me on it for 10 which would push it even further into the future!

My advusi

My advisor couldnt find a si gle company to indure me for life insurance particularly as I’ve had two cancers. He got me a policy with an over 50’s…yes theres lots of loopholes as I have to be free of treatment and anastrozole is counted as treatment.I can claim if I get sick with anything not cancer related but if it is I wont be covered for another 5 years yet.I think thats right but I get confused! I would get a lump sum of £6,500 if terminal which at least would civer my funeral
