Don’t know whether I’m doing something wrong but I posted here yesterday & my post is not appearing in the “latest posts” section so is not getting read, so I’m trying again.
Just had my 4th lipofill on my igap reconstruction & it still looks like a flat doughnut. Really fed up now & wishing I had never gone down this road. Just wondering whether I’m the only person who’s ever had a failed reconstruction?

Hi! Sorry to hear you’ve had so much work for no result. I’ve had lipofil that didn’t work… and only the once as it was so painful I won’t be rushing back for more. I’m not sure what an igap recon is though, sorry, it’s been a while since I was hanging around on the forum, my surgery was over 4 years ago, so not up to date with the lastest procedures.
I have a capsulated impant, so look like I have a small shrivelled boob on one side, but to be honest, I just want to get on with my life, and as long as I can balance the look (which I do with a small prosthesis) I’ve stopped caring about how it looks. I do feel sad when I look at it, and it feels odd, rock hard and lumpy at the edges. But what keeps me going these days is my horse, and he doesn’t care - and any more surgery would mean months off riding, and I’m past the point of caring.
Have you talked to your surgeon? Are there any other options?
I suggest you have a look at the thread on stem cell lipofill, further down the page under reconstructive surgery. Not that it’s the magic cure for everything, but it might be worth reading and seeing if maybe it might help you.
Some people posting on that thread have found that it worked, others not. From what I’ve read (and believe me, I’ve done a lot of reading on the subject) there seems to be a significant difference in results between stem cell lipofill and conventional, BUT you have to have it done by a surgeon with the right experience and training.
