Little bit of advice please :)

Hi everyone, i’m due to have a lump removed next wednesday as my initial biopsy results came back inconclusive and the lump is growing quite fast, all i wanted to know really was what bra i should wear after? I went for my pre-op yesterday and completely forgot to ask! Thanks very much  sarah x

Hi there

Hope all goes well with your Op, these are testing and worrying times for you. I got some sports bra’s when i had my lumpectomy. Absolutely nothing underwired, just comfort and support. They worked wonders.

hi sarah,
hope all goes well for you with the op and results, if you need to talk things through this is the place to be!
I agree with wendy, just a sports bra for comfort, worked for me!
Good luck for next week x

Hi
As the other ladies said nothing underwired. But I hate sports bras and found the m&s maxium support range were great after both my lumpectomy and my mx/recon

Hi
I got sports bras from Asda…very supportive, comfy and inexpensive…thay have my vote
Good Luck xx

hi, i also got some m and s ultra support non wired bras which were great after my lumpectomy, i only got a white one at first then realised i couldn’t wear half my clothes with that so had to go back and get a black one after! Good luck with the op,

Vickie

Hi I found that i have mostly worn my sloggi cropped bra top, since my mx in january. I have just recently started wearing a bra again. I got some pretty unwired ones from matalan, for only £4 each.
Good Luck with your op, hope all goes well for you.

Thankyou all very much! I will be shopping tomorrow, then bring on wednesday. Sarah x

Like Jacqui37, I’ve never got on with sports bras but did buy one as it was recommended by everyone and especially by my BCN. I was also tempted by a non-underwired version of my favourite bra and particularly liked the fact that it was seam-free and non-lacy across the boob surface. In the end, I found the sports bra pretty uncomfortable, whereas the one I’d been tempted by was heaven - so very comfortable and supportive. So, I’d say check out your normal bra and see if it comes without underwiring - at least you know it suits *you*.

Good luck with the shopping and hope all goes well on Wednesday.

Hi all, would just like to say thank you for your advice last week, i had the op yesterday, and i had all the bases covered bra wise! I’ve gone with the nonwired support bra, the sports bra is a bit much right now, but i feel in a few days time it’ll work wonders. They found 2 lumps in there and have also biopsied some tissue, well i think thats what the surgeon said, he came to see me literally as i was woken up! Sarah x

Well done getting thru your op. Is so hard when thru tdlk to you straight after ! I couldn’t remember anything. Hope your edit fog results not too stressful
