On 4 May, 2pm -3pm , Breast Cancer Now will be running a live speaker session on reducing risk and management of lymphoedema for people living with secondary breast cancer.
We will be joined on Zoom by Addie, a Clinical Nurse Specialist at Breast Cancer Now who previously worked as a Lymphoedema Specialist.
Lymphoedema is a build-up of fluid under the skin, caused by damage to lymph nodes, leading to a swelling. This session will cover the potential causes of lymphoedema, ways to reduce the risk of developing lymphoedema and information on how lymphoedema can be managed. Addie will give information around ways to care for the skin, exercise, wearing of compression garments and compression bandaging. There will also be time to ask Addie any questions you may have.
This session is offered as part of our Living with Secondary Breast Cancer online service where you can access regular Zoom meetings and speaker sessions. To register for the service and sign up for this session, please email secondaryservices@breastcancernow.org or comment below if you have any questions.
Warmest wishes
