Hey, just wondering anyone here living with incurable breast cancer has chemo now on meds to control it but wondered if it’s normal to have pain most days or generally feeling unwell? Then put of nowhere picking up a simple cold that lasts ages or turns into something far worse. At moment C is under control but not yet had any consecutive days where I’m fine.

hi, I just want to let you know that you’re not the only one feeling this way. I also felt constantly down on different chemo/targeted pills. I think that this is okay but also do not forget that if you have any weird symptoms you should be asking advice from your medical team. love xo

Hi, I am in similar situation but I had targeted medication first, then chemotherapy - just had my last session. With the medication, I also had a lot of side effects, including pain, low immunity and fatigue - even though it isn’t as damaging to the body as the chemotherapy it is still very strong. Eventually, I had a dose reduction and it became possible to live a more ‘normal’ life. I felt so much better! Definitely talk to your medical team about your side effects - they have said to be that they don’t just want to extend my life but want me to focus on quality of life too! It is hard to get a balance isn’t it? Hope you get some improvement soon.

I have recently started Trodelvy and feel pretty rubbish most days, but am learning when the better days are and when to pace myself. Trying to get out most days, even if for a very short walk or a cuppa with a friend, really helps. The fatigue is the worst side effect.
Previously I was on Capecitabine and had a dose reduction after a few rounds, which really improved things, so it’s worth considering discussing the dose.
I think it’s about trying to find your own balance and what you feel you can cope with. I would talk to your team/oncologist - I hope they are sympathetic and can help, and hopefully offer some reassurance.
