Hi Lollypop, if you e mail BCC as listed above i’m sure they’ll give you details of the next meet up in March…I can’t remember the date off hand. If you look in the meet ups section of Secondary breast cancer you’ll see details of an informal once a month meet up in Cardiff which is taking place next Friday. 2nd March…i’ve only made it once but hope to be there. Its at 11.30am in Trenchers…details in other thread. You’ll receive a warm welcome! Pamx
The next meeting of the new Living with Secondary Breast Cancer group is on Thursday 15 March 11am-1pm at our BCC offices in Cardiff. If you’d like more information about the on-going service or would like to come along then please do contact us on 0845 077 1893 or you can email: <script type=“text/javascript”>eval(unescape(‘%64%6f%63%75%6d%65%6e%74%2e%77%72%69%74%65%28%27%3c%61%20%68%72%65%66%3d%22%6d%61%69%6c%74%6f%3a%73%65%63%6f%6e%64%61%72%79%73%65%72%76%69%63%65%73%40%62%72%65%61%73%74%63%61%6e%63%65%72%63%61%72%65%2e%6f%72%67%2e%75%6b%22%3e%73%65%63%6f%6e%64%61%72%79%73%65%72%76%69%63%65%73%40%62%72%65%61%73%74%63%61%6e%63%65%72%63%61%72%65%2e%6f%72%67%2e%75%6b%3c%2f%61%3e%27%29%3b’))</script>
Im new to this forum as only diagnosed with secondaries yesterday. Had to go back for ct results and was hoping for good news so I could go ahead with my reconstruction, but they found the big C on my liver and possibly lung. Im only 38 and have a family with a young daughter of just 5 and I am struggling to come to terms with it all. Im a positive person and have fought this from the time I was diagnosed back in october 2010, all I feel now is very numb and that I want to go back to sleep and wake up knowing it had all been a dream.
They want to get me in for chemo again as im triple negative and cant have anything else, but my husband would like me to try this tox free chemo which they are trialling in mexico at the moment, which has had fantastic results. Only trouble is it would involve moving away with my family out there for 3 months. We can raise the money im sure as very expensive, but whats money hey! The hospital dont know of anyone my own age who has been through this and thats why im posting this to see if anyone out there has.
Thankyou for reading my story and hope i get the chance to speak to you soon. xxx
hi jules,
i know how you feel its all very scary i was dx with secondrys four weeks ago i started chemo the day after they told me, i am on taxol, plus back on herceptin, i was having herceptin before from when i was first dx in sept 2010, but it was stopped because of heart but its ok now thank god, you are much younger than me, but once your treatment starts you will feel much better, so far i am feeling fine so hopefully it stays that way, by the way i hace lung mets.
take care jules
