I finished my treatment, mastectomy, chemo and radiotherapy, three years ago. For the last two years I’ve had recurring neck and head pain. My neck is very stiff and then I get a pain in my head, in one specific place. I was so worried that last year I had an MRI scan which luckily was clear. It sort of went away but never fully. Then it came back at the beginning of this year and I went to an osteopath. He said that he’d treated many women, starting with his sister, who’d been through the same treatment and he saw a lot of women who’d had breast cancer! I had one treatment with him and he was remarkable! It went away! But it’s come back and I’m struggling to see him again as he’s not near me and getting to him when he’s available is difficult. But I now have a constant pain in my head. I’m going to ring my nurse today. But I wondered if anyone else has experienced this ?

I’m having a similar issue. Am considering giving up tamoxifen.
I’ve been getting bad head and neck pain for awhile. I take Thyroxine for an underactive thyroid, so that could be part of it. I had a neck scan for suspicious lumpyness but they think it’s muscle swelling. But what is scaring me is the pain in my head, it’s at the back of my head, towards the top and to the right. I keep rubbing it to see if there’s anything there, but obviously the skulls in the way! Last night every time I woke in the night it was there, a constant intense stabbing inner kind of pain. It worries me, as today I am still aware of it and it now just feels sore to touch. Who should I mention it to, gp or specialist nurse? Should I be worried, as I am on a break from Anastrozole for awhile due to issues with my Thyroid. Thanks, xx
i think odd stabby pains in head can be from clenching muscles in neck and jaw. It’s the sort of thing we do when stressed. I certainly do and it’s really hard to relax those muscles. I think nerve pain then builds up.
