Looking for some info

Hey everyone, just a quick question. Iv started my chemo, had 2 sessions. I got an appointment in today for a ct scan of my chest, abdomen & pelvis, I’m absolutely terrified in case they think that it has spread. Since I’m a newbie and don’t know much about what happens, is this a normal procedure during a cancer diagnosis? Thanks in advance xx

I had one at the start of chemo so they had a baseline for the treatment. All the hospitals are different. I’m sure the nurses would reassure you that is ok. x

Doctors do them either before starting treatment or early into it just to get a clearer picture of what’s going on, track any changes, or rule things out. It doesn’t necessarily mean something is wrong or that it’s spread

Please don’t worry. This is par for the course re your treatment

I had one as a precaution once it was confirmed that my nodes were involved

I had one before surgery as nodes were infected, my scan can back clear. It gives them a baseline. I know it’s hard and you’re at the hardest stage as you haven’t started treatment yet. But it will get better. Phone the nurses on here or your bcn I MacMillan. They got me thru the beginning part of the diagnosis x
